Chief Executive Officer
William Ding founded NetEase in 1997. Under his leadership, the company has become a leading Internet services and technologies provider in China.
Mr. Ding has been the CEO of NetEase since 2005, and has served as a director since July 1999. From 2001 to 2005, he served as the company’s Chief Architect, and from 1999 to 2001, as the Co-Chief Technology Officer of NetEase.
Before founding NetEase, Mr. Ding worked as a technical engineer for China Telecom and a technical support engineer for the US-based database software company, Sybase, in Mainland China. Mr. Ding holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from the University of Electronic Science and Technology in China.
Acting Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Choi has served as the acting chief financial officer of NetEase since July 2007. Mr. Choi has served as the financial controller and corporate finance director of NetEase for the periods from January 2005 to June 2007 and from November 2003 to December 2004, respectively. Prior to that, Mr. Choi worked at Ernst & Young Beijing, including as a senior manager of the assurance and advisory business services department. Mr. Choi also worked at KPMG (assurance) and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (finance and accounting).
Mr. Choi is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, a member of the CPA Australia, a member of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants and a registered practising Certified Public Accountant in Hong Kong. Mr. Choi holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in accountancy with honors from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
Senior Vice President
Feng Zhou has extensive experience in computer science research and systems development. He has published more than 10 papers in leading international research conferences and journals. At NetEase, he leads the Youdao.com business, providing search and mobile services. He also led the development of the GenKey one-time-password authentication system for improved account security of online game users.
Mr. Zhou holds Bachelor's and M.S. degrees in Computer Science from Tsinghua University, and Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from University of California, Berkeley.
